Red Army Rape Spring Break in Germany

My next post will be shorter, I promise

Its a commonly known fact amongst Western Rightwingers, even many who consider themselves pro Russian that the Red Army raped basically every female in the parts of Germany they occupied regardless of age. Rigorously vetted evidence for this accusation is in fact kind of sparse in comparison to the scale of the claim and the Red Army’s guilt was established more via Western Cold War era literature than from German direct accounts after and during the war. After the USSR was dismantled Western pop historians took the Cold War numbers of rape victims and ran with them, for example British “Historian” Anthony Beevor claimed in his 2002 book “the Fall of Berlin 1945” that the Red Army raped 2 million German women in total and over a 100,000 in Berlin specifically. Since this claim validates Western Moral superiority of over the USSR it quickly gained traction with Western Rightwingers who simultaneously disbelieve the standard kosher narrative about WW2 but very strongly believe in the standard rightoid narrative about the USSR being the evilest country that’s ever existed save Isreal itself. However even a cursory examination of this claim raises a commonsense question, the Red Amry units involved in invading Germany contained about 2 million troops and lots of them were killed or wounded…is it seriously plausible that 2 million troops involved in very heavy fighting and taking serious losses also raked up 2 million rapes? If we examine the Red Army’s own records involving measures taken against soldiers who abused the local population, we see that they are about as numerous as those of the Western Allies. If one accepts the wartime records kept by the relevant Army’s as a better baseline than Western Cold War and Post Cold War literature with very few or sometimes no primary sources than a huge plank of Western Moral Superiority over the East collapses. Of course, the immediate response by the Western Right winger in this case will be “you can’t trust the Red Armys records due to Stalin and Communism and Communist lie about everything”. This objection of course is a philosophical presupposition and not a true argument in itself and it’s a pity Western Right wingers refuse to admit as much. What follows is an examination from Russian Sources about just what can be established in the realm of fact about the Red Army’s German Rape Safari.

The first accounts of the Red Army systematically raping every German female they found goes back to the end of war. For example Goebbels wrote in his diary:

Goebbels wasn’t lying, inevitably there were some brutal war crimes committed by the Red Army when they invaded Germany. The question is of scale and if Goebbels exaggerated to help steel German morale. If you are of the opinion that Goebbels would never exaggerate and all German propaganda efforts amounted to transmitting totally self-evident facts with no emphasis on certain points to create a desired reaction, then we have again arrived in the realm of presumptions dictating how we examine data. For example, there are seriously countless reports of German troops committing atrocities in the USSR that the Western Right winger will dismiss in their entirety because as per his presuppositions German troops didn’t ever commit atrocities and Commies always lie. Personally, I too reject the majority of atrocity porn thrown at German troops but I’m also skeptical that Soviet troops were significantly worse behaved than the Western Allies. As for the German Propaganda about the imminent rape hurricane descending on Germany, the following is from a Russian automotive blog…yes I’m serious. An endearing idiosyncrasy of Russian blogging is that historical revisionism and conspiracy can be found on sites dedicated to pet care, fishing, etc etc.

Here, the age range of the victims increases even in comparison with Goebbels' statements: in the Red Army's offensive zone, "every woman from eight to eighty years old is threatened with rape"

I haven’t read Terrible Harvest but I have read Hell Storm which is a summary of all the previous Red Army atrocity porn but to Hell Storms credit it does at least cover some Western atrocities while still maintaining the over all narrative of Western Allied Moral Superiority. When I first read it I was aware of the Western Allied Terror Bombings of Germany but like many Edgy American Rightoids I thought this was the extent of Western Allied Criminality, but Hell Storm showed this was not the case. I also read Ryans Battle of Berlin book which was interesting enough but looking back its basically pop history and the whole thing with raising the age threshold of rape victims was just thrown in to emphasis the Reds general barbarity without being based on anything concrete. Thats pretty standard with pop history as part of the idea is to make the narrative more “accessible” to laymen by taking some liberties with facts here and there. If Enemy at the Gates was based on true events that the movie doesn’t resemble at all than Ryans work kind of resembles the Battle of Berlin with some outrage porn and riveting “firsthand accounts” thrown in to hook the professional book reviewers and casual layman readers.

The problem with establishing Russian Moral inferiority based on the rape fest is that you have to go off vague firsthand accounts and assume all the Western Allied sourced claims are true and all the Soviet ones about German atrocities in the USSR are false. The following is from a Russian Construction Blog and it’s a long entry about atrocity claims made from both sides…once more some great conspiracy/history stuff can be found in the most unlikely of places on the Russian Internet. This is a long block post but it’s necessary imo to establish that Soviet claims about the brutality meted out by the Germans is in no short supply and sounds identical to the atrocity porn accusations thrown at the Red Army:

Once again, presuppositions are the horses pulling the cart of evidence and if one can’t admit this, he is lying to himself. What I see above is Moscow doing in 1941 what Berlin did in 1945, leveraging atrocity porn propaganda to stiffen the resolve of the defenders. Just like how Berlin took some real cases of Churkas from Tajikistan raping and massacring some East German villages they passed through and turned this into a rape title wave in 1945 in 1941 Moscow took the brutality of some Baltoid Axillaries or German anti partisan Units and turned it into a German Rape Fest in the USSR.

So besides German 1945 propaganda that has a grain of truth which was exaggerated to stiffen resolve, just like the Soviets did 1941 where does the original source of the mass Red Army rape originate besides the eyewitness accounts which are identical to soviet accounts from 1941? If that methodology passes muster with someone than I guess they are on the “believe all women train” and well…retarded. Taking questionable claims from German women at face value from 1 Berlin hospital and extrapolating that to all of East Germany is not serious at all.

The thing is, as I’ve already mentioned is that no account from Soviet sources is admissible to the Western Anti Soviet a priori, unless of course it’s someone like Solzhenitsyn. So, what exactly do the official Soviet Documents say?

Rape of German women by soldiers of the Red Army took place.

Die Hard Anti Soviet Rightoids will wave away all the above and claim that the documents are just busy work that reflect absolutely nothing and either there was a secret policy where Soviet Troops were encouraged to rape everyone while simultaneously fighting, or that the Red Amry just did not discourage or punish rape. This is kind of retarded because if every Soviet Tanker and Riflemen in Germany stopped to rape every 80 year old women multiple times than East Germany just wouldn’t have fallen or presumably it would have fallen much quicker if rape breaks weren’t constantly happening. For examples Romans, Vikings, Ottomans, Arabs etc would rape all the women AFTER the fighting ended. As a matter of fact, getting to ravage the girls motivated the troops to win. Stopping to rape every grannie and pre-pubescent girl while the enemy is still in the field is literally deadly for the Army engaged in it AND STALIN WANTED TO RAPIDLY TAKE AS MUCH OF GERMANY AS FAST AS POSSIBLE. When you factor just plain ass common sense the above examples of the Red Army trying to keep the raping and pillaging to a manageable minimum makes sense…way more sense than the Rightoid claims that the Red Army secretly or tacitly encouraged rape while the fighting was still happening. Did the Red Army rape a lot of German women during the war in Germany? If tens of thousands is a lot than sure but the Western Allies were probably at over 10 thousand themselves. Did they rape a bunch immediately after the war? IDK but definitively not millions by any means whatsoever as after the war soldiers could get laid in exchange for half a potato, a few cigarettes or a chocolate bar and the Western Allies were notorious for buying sex this way in particular. Let’s go ahead and say that for every Red Army soldier who was punished for rape that 20 were not punished because of Communism, Stalin, the jews, blah blah. I think that’s a fair ratio to concede to the diehard believers in Western Moral superiority over the USSR. If we accept my ratio, we have 80,000 cases of rape from Soviet troops

Well, here is some recent research into American behavior in occupied Germany. About the work of an edgy German Researcher named Miriam Gebhardt:

The work, which came out in German on Monday, takes a closer look at the rape of German women by all four victorious powers at the end of World War II. In particular, though, her views on the behavior of American GIs are likely to raise eyebrows. Gebhardt believes that members of the US military raped as many as 190,000 German women by the time West Germany regained sovereignty in 1955, with most of the assaults taking place in the months immediately following the US invasion of Nazi Germany.

The author bases her claims in large part on reports kept by Bavarian priests in the summer of 1945. The Archbishop of Munich and Freising had asked Catholic clergy to keep records on the allied advance and the Archdiocese published excerpts from its archive a few years ago.

Michael Merxmüller, a priest in the village of Ramsau near Berchtesgaden, wrote on July 20, 1945, for example: "Eight girls and women raped, some of them in front of their parents."

Father Andreas Weingand, from Haag an der Amper, a tiny village located just north of where the Munich airport is today, wrote on July 25, 1945: "The saddest event during the advance were three rapes, one on a married woman, one on a single woman and one on a spotless girl of 16-and-a-half. They were committed by heavily drunken Americans."

Father Alois Schiml from Moosburg wrote on Aug. 1, 1945: "By order of the military government, a list of all residents and their ages must be nailed to the door of each house. The results of this decree are not difficult to imagine. ... Seventeen girls or women ... were brought to the hospital, having been sexually abused once or several times."

The youngest victim mentioned in the reports is a seven-year-old child. The oldest, a woman of 69.

Uh oh if Americans raped 190,000 with the majority being right after the war ended and the Soviets raped 80k by the end of 1946 than maybe the Americans were the real rapist all along. How did Gebhardt arrive at these numbers?

The total is not the result of deep research in archives across the country. Rather, it is an extrapolation. Gebhardt makes the assumption that 5 percent of the "war children" born to unmarried women in West Germany and West Berlin by the mid-1950s were the product of rape. That makes for a total of 1,900 children of American fathers. Gebhardt further assumes that on average, there are 100 incidents of rape for each birth. The result she arrives at is thus 190,000 victims.

Lol okay so the number is BS arrived at through very creative extrapolation just like with the 2 million rapes attributed to the Red Army. From the same article:

In conclusion this 2 million number for raped German Women is total BS based on ridiculous extrapolations by an aggrieved jewess. If we accept that as valid we can do the exact same for Western Allied soldiers as has actually been attempted and should the Global Powers That Be ever decide that they need to demonize the Western Allies as they did the USSR after the cold war you better believe the same image of the drunken savage GI will be forthcoming just like happened with the Red Army. The only way to seriously get at the truth about who was doing the most raping is to count and analyze individual cases and cases exists for the Western Allies as is seen above, the Germans as I showed earlier, and the Red Army which I haven’t reproduced in this post because all my readers I’m assuming have read Hell Storm and countless blog posts about the evils of the Red Army. My general impression is that probably the Red Army did rape more German Women than the Western Allies and the Western Allies raped more German Women than Soviet Women who were raped by Germans. But the 2 million number is total BS. If we go ahead and say that the 4k Soviet Troops sentenced for rape is an undercount by 100 times that still doesn’t get us anywhere near 2 million. If the Americans had 11k rapes under their belt by November 1946 like Spiegel implies above than probably the Reds had 3or4 times as many. Furthermore, just like how most the rapes on the Western Allied end were committed by Colonial Troops and Blacks, in the Red Army it was mostly Churkas not Russians. Needless to say, most of the crimes conducted by 3rd Reich Forces in the USSR were the work of Baltoids, Ukrainians etc. There has been absolutely no serious scientific work done to establish how many German Women were raped by who and probably it’s too late to do so. The jewess Johrs Talmudic number conjuring and Hillers rape fantasy novel don’t count so literally all we have are the individual stories and maybe AI will count and sort which ones are legit one day. All we can do until than is just go where our individual a priori biases lead the evidence for us. In my case as a Russophile I’m throwing out the jews 2 million number for raped German women and just multiplying the American number 3or4 times to account for the Red Army’s generally more brutal nature and less clingy approach to life, whether those of its own members or the enemies. Of course, it wasn’t the Reds who wiped most German cities off the map with bombs but when it comes to stuff like interpersonal brutalization the Reds were more capable than say Americans or Brits. The war was mostly fought on Soviet Soil and the scale of the slaughter on the Eastern Front was so much bigger that we should expect more brutalizing of civilians on both ends. I mean any Western die hard anti Soviet Right Wingers that claim German troops treated Soviet Civilians as well as say French of Belgian Civilians is lying to themselves, as they so often do.

So, the Western Allies bombing campaign killed somewhere between a bit more and way more German civilians than the Soviets War Crimes did both during and after the war. Furthermore, most German civilians who were murdered in Eastern Europe were murdered by Poles, Czechs, etc if this AI is correct. That is the Eastern Europeans who modern anti Soviet/anti Russian Right Wingers love the most killed more German Civilians during the war than the Soviets. Oh, the irony and reality being dumber than fiction as it often is with Eastern European issues.
